GUIDELINES AND RULES OF CONDUCT

The College gives utmost priority for discipline and every student is bound to follow the rules and regulations of the College and maintain strict discipline.

  • The College begins at 9.30 a.m. and closes at 3.40 p.m. with a recess for 50 minutes between 12.20 and 1.10 p.m. At the first bell(9.20 a.m.), students should go to their respective classes. Latecomers should not enter the class without the permission of HOD/Principal.
  • Students must produce a leave letter for their absence with the signature of the parent/guardian. The letter format is available on the College website.
  • No student should leave the College campus during working hours without the permission of the Principal.
  • The students are expected to follow the dress code (Uniform) stipulated by the College authorities. Students are not allowed to attend classes or any College function wearing shorts, dhotis, jeans or T-shirts etc.
  • All the students should wear identity card on campus and it has to be produced on demand by the College authorities.
  • All students are bound to respect each other’s individuality without discrimination or prejudice on social, religious, sexual or ethnic grounds.
  • All students must strive to respect the natural and built environments, prevent wasteful use of resources, and safely dispose of waste.
  • Each student is jointly responsible for the good order of the campus and its facilities.
  • Scribbling on the walls and desks or doing any other kind of damage to the College property is strictly prohibited.
  • The cost of any damage, if caused to College property will be charged to the accounts of the students responsible for the damage in addition to disciplinary action.
  • Irregular attendance, and insubordination to teachers, non-teaching staff, and college authorities shall be seriously dealt with.
  • Students are not permitted to possess or use Mobile phones or similar electronic devices inside the College campus as per Government rules.
  • Ragging is strictly prohibited on the College campus as Govt. & UGC orders.
  • Eating snacks/taking lunch inside the classrooms or along corridors are not permitted.
  • Students must not loiter in the verandahs, canteen, sit on the steps of porticos and staircases during class hours.
  • During the unexpected absence of the teacher concerned, students should remain silent in their classroom or engage in co-curricular activities or be in the library.
  • No meeting of any kind shall be held within the College campus without the prior written permission of the Principal.
  • No money shall be collected by students from their classmates without obtaining prior permission from the Principal.
  • No notice/pamphlets/brochures of any kind shall be circulated among students or pasted on the Notice Board without the prior written sanction of the Principal.
  • Students using vehicles should park their vehicles only in the student’s parking area. Students are not permitted to ride on vehicles within the campus. Students are not to cause any kind of inconvenience to the neighboring institutions, nor to traffic in the area of the Marian Higher Education Campus.
  • Students shall not indulge in any kind of malpractice in the examinations.
  • Grievances, if any, shall be brought to the notice of the Principal or submitted online through the link provided in the website.
